My Story K: My Family My Life

This is a unique kindergarten social studies course, introducing you to family and culture, what it is to be a good citizen, basic geography, and basic economics. It also includes a better understanding of God’s love for us, our families, and other people in the world.

Central to this study is learning to love God more and to love people more. this reflects the heart of Christ: “ ‘And you shall love the Lord you God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all you mind, and with all you strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself’ ” (Mark 12:30-31).

This two-day-a-week adventure-based curriculum encourages families to explore the world together through four nine-week quests and to understand it better from God’s perspective. It is designed with elements that make weekly learning fun and interactive, including

* Language time!
* God’s Scripture time
* Picture time!
* My Book time!

As students work through the course, the teacher will be helping them create a story book of their year so they can reflect on who they are in their eyes and in God’s eyes. Make sure to pull out the Quest Collector Cards at the beginning of each quest. The world map on the other side shows where the language focus is for each lesson!
